“ I have zero regrets going to this wonderful dim sum place. Clement St. is awash with dim sum joints, but I really liked this one. The locals are very friendly in the line, and tell you what to do. Go grab a disposable menu, and use a pen to circle what you want to give to the ladies at the front when it's your turn! Everything we had was great! The Shrimp dumplings were outstanding, and I really liked the Crystal Dumplings as well. soft, but not too gummy in texture. The show stopper for me was the chicken feet however. Perfectly cooked, with the best parts just falling of the bone with ease. I was not shy, I ordered 100 bucks worth of food, but there was SO much left, even with 3 adult women pigging out. Great bang for your buck, and great quality. Keep in mind this is a dim sum place, and their fare is usually to go. They have tables, but don't expect anyone running around offering water, etc. You're lucky there is a table. you'll get utensils and napkins in your bag, if you forget to buy drinks, you better have some with you, but if there is a table free, you don't have to wait to eat the delicious food. It's not a 3 page menu, it's a tight half sheet, and the selections were all good. If I had any complaint at all, it was that the eggrolls were cold, but again, I got them for nostalgia's sake. The focus is the dumplings, and not a single steamed dumpling or bun was cold. Also Beef Siu Mai? I'm sold. ”
“ Good Luck Dim Sum is a bakery style dim sum shop in Richmond. It's a small place and I assume most orders are to-go, however there are some tables in the back. We arrived later in the day around 3:30pm so some items had already run out. However, we were still able to get popular items including shrimp dumpling, pork siu mai, steamed pork bun, baked pork bun, stuffed dumpling, deep fried taro root and custard. Their pricing shows sets, however you can also order each item in individual pieces. I'd say this is a pretty solid and standard dim sum place. You'll definitely feel satisfied. Tip: Bring cash. ”
“ Honestly this place is good but it didn't stand out to me lol - it's a tiny little place in the Richmond amidst a bustling street of shops and stores. It's no frills, with some tables and chairs inside (but it can be hard to get). They take cash and have fast, also no frills, service. The dim sum itself is hot and pretty good - although I wasn't super impressed by anything in particular, but I also wasn't disappointed which is overall a good sign. Great to drop by if you're in the area and want dim sum :) Overall: 4/5 ”
“ The line for Good Luck speaks for itself - it's worth the wait! I regularly come to GLDS at 9am on weekends and usually don't wait longer than 10 mins. Like any takeout dim sum spot, it can be intimidating ordering for the first time, but the paper menus help a lot. Our favorites are the shrimp dumplings, chive dumplings, potstickers and steamed pork buns. My dad's - an SF native - ranking of Richmond takeout dim sum: "Wing Lee - Dai Bao (steam big chicken bun) Cherry Blossom (any baked bao) Good luck (best everything else)" ”
“ Guess it is time for an update...? At least a way to link all my photos, lol. Ever since Ho Pastry (on 6th and Clement) closed, I have been coming here. Quality/Quantity - Hit and miss. Due to their volume they are probably one of the freshest in town. But size and ingredients can be different at times. On great days, I get the freshest and plumpest dim sum. On the worst days, I get the same order but they are in smaller sizes with too many bamboo shoots that are just not digestible. Today the dim sum was on the smaller size. Atmosphere - Now that life is back to "normal" rather than what I mentioned in the previous review, the line is more organized. But then I also try my best to shop during off peak hours. Cut and pasted from their previous post: This is where they struggle the most. Some of the employees just do NOT seem happy pre or post-pandemic. And there is NO order. If you are in the "know," then pre-order and you can skip the line as per the employees. But because most people are NOT in the "know," you get dirty looks and have to explain yourself as you walk to the front of the line (to the back counter). There really should be signage. Service - Quick and simple. Helps that this is one of the few days we strategically did NOT over order as we have a huge event tonight. Ordered what we needed, got utensils, sauces, and then left. It would be nice if they gave us an itemized receipt...? Price - $35, only because we under ordered. Making sure we save our appetite for tonight. See Hong Kong Palace Review in Millbrae. Owner Comment - Itemized receipts would be nice. From previous post: Post signs on where the line should run. Post "Pick Up" signage so we don't get yelled at or stares when we come to pick up our order. Or tell pre-order customers to get in line instead of telling us to come straight to the front...? ”
